5 things to do to build a happier you

Fearless, Happier you, Happy

Just a quick reminder before we start, you are doing great and to cut yourself a bit of slack every now and then :P

One: Don’t let doubt in

Doubt is a dangerous thing, it can start as a small inconspicuous thought but can snowball into much more.  Of course doubting is natural, we all do it and it is good to an extent but I think it can easily get out of hand without us even realising.

Learn to believe and trust yourself – this is easier said then done but trying to is better then letting doubt take over and control your life and decisions.

Two: Listen

By listen, I mean learning from others and listening to yourself and what you need. When you are unsure, observe what other people do. Don’t copy them, just learn from them – see their good choices and mistakes then go from there – it is just like research for an assignment you get the basic ideas from others and build upon it into make something you believe in.

Also listen to yourself – what do you need? How much should you push? These are important questions. Just make sure you don’t get caught up on them too much, because I’ve been there (so if you do then skip to steps 1 and 5).

Three: Don’t ask why

When you are faced with troubling times in your life, you deal with sadness, stress and grief. After this initial shock you begin to ask why. Why does this happen? Don’t ask why. It won’t help how you feel. Unless it’s a regular everyday type issue with an answer to be found, don’t ask why. Most things in life don’t have an explanation, things just happen so it’s best to not dwell.

Four: Don’t be afraid of setbacks

These are learning experiences and the more you have the stronger you become. Use them to your advantage – learn and grow from them.

Being scared of a set back I became trained to find problems, to look for any signs of trouble to avoid getting worse. But this made me only see the bad as I only looked for the bad. Although I was a positive person and celebrated when I did well with even the smallest improvements. I would compare them with the worse times thus creating this continuous cycle of bad. The worse times even crept into the better ones. It is important to separate them and scan the body for good. Look for the good for a change, forget the bad.

Five: Love

Cliché as it sounds but love is important. It can come from the people around you or how you spend your time doing the things you love. But most importantly it should primarily come from you. Self-love is so important. You live with yourself every second of the day, its easier if you learn to love yourself and every quirk you have :P Look after yourself and also spread the love around. Kindness to others goes a long way.

Thanks for reading :) If you have any tips or comments please share them below! Hope you're having a great day! Don't forget to be fearless x

I recently received a message of hate this blog post. I just wanted to address it to clarify a point I made. They believed happiness was an emotion rather than a state if being. Yes, happiness is an emotion but just like anything in life that is important, I believe where we can we should do some preparation and take the help we can get. You wouldn't build a house without the guidance of a blueprint, so why would you wing something so important as your own happiness? I'm not saying my post was the key to happiness, it was simply what I have found helpful. I believe being aware of the way we think can be essential to our happiness and what you do today will affect your future.

  1. I totally agree with listening and loving Susie. Self-love, for me, is the primary reason for happiness. If we choose to accept who we really are, we then make things more easier, and we surround ourselves with happy people too. :)

  12. Such a fantastic post! I've been working on step 1 recently. I've noticed I'm doubting myself a lot and it's really not helpful. I'd rather spend that energy making myself even better at the things I love. Xx

  13. You couldn't have put it any better. Agreed! I'm working on not doubting. That is an area of struggle for sure, but learning to trust God, pray and not thinking about whatever the case may be. Thanks for this post. :)
